Stenographers Notebook

This batik collection emerged from two artist books Marcia Derse had been gradually developing over the years. She was always on the hunt for paper, especially old paper with handwriting and over the years she would overlay paintings and sketches onto the pages not knowing where it would lead.

With the opportunity to create her second batik collection she revisited the notebook, pulling inspiration from the pages. The aged papers in the book were so beautiful and became an important element in the overall design. This collection became a spot to sneak in favorites!
